Arlington School Fifth Grade, Janet Corah

In the Artist’s Words… We chose a concept that allowed each of them to paint the design of their choice on a square of paper. My husband, Joe, did lots of sanding and patching before we began actual painting. Following the final coat, students decoupaged their individual art squares onto Arli. They also took turns painting his nails, eyes, and tusks. Then Arli joined the herd at Headwaters. It was a great surprise to everyone when he returned for our fifth-grade recognition program. Arli-Don is now on display at Brueggemann Lumber out in the country where many Amish people live. He is a curiosity to the horses at the hitching post.
