In the Artist’s Words… We are both art majors who were looking for new artistic challenges. When Chancellor Wartell approached us about designing a mastodon for this community project, we accepted. The design was inspired by musical groups and trends of the classic rock era. Look for rock band icons including the Rolling Stones, Beatles, and Aerosmith. Woodstock, that global phenomenon, is also there. The preparation phase took hours. The actual painting was all full of color, fun, and friendship. During the process there was plenty of girl time, gossiping, listening to music, and the occasional glass of wine!
