In the Artist’s Words… Everyone knows that if you want to do good work on math problems, you need a #2 pencil over your ear. That’s exactly where Sparky (our nickname for AccountoDon) keeps his spare! Figures of people all over his back depict accountants’ balancing numbers. Sparky also has an interactive button which tells listeners that he is trying to get “beyond your numbers.” Everyone got involved, including our head custodian, Mark Jones. The students were eager to put their mark on a public piece of art. Getting people to participate in and appreciate art is what I am all about.
