In the Artist’s Words… RE/MAX was our first mastodon. We never thought about doing more than one, but Parkview Hospital liked our design for the Samaritan helicopter, and we accepted a second project. When the mastodons arrived, we learned quickly that each one was a couple of toes too wide to walk through the door. Luckily, our office window was easily removable and we air-lifted them in. Then two months into the project, we insanely agreed to add www.REALTOR.Don as the third member of our herd. Before they were all complete, we worked through several all-nighters and made many trips to a Chinese take-out restaurant. We finished our dons with seconds to spare. We feel so lucky to be a part of Fort Wayne’s first communitywide art project. When we started, somebody asked, “Are you sure you want to do this together?” We agree that we would not have had it any other way. We spent as much time strengthening our friendship as we did working our hearts out. Our herd will forever be part of us!
