In the Artist’s Words… I was inspired by the thought-provoking surrealist art of René Magritte. Magritte constructs his paintings in a highly realistic style, exaggerating an element to inspire imaginative thought. For iMAGiDON, the imaginative element is the canvas and easel, as if the entire scene were frozen long enough for the artist to paint it. The exact moment waves crash onto the shore is captured on the canvas — even as it happens. The artwork is the visual representation of an idea. The moment it is thought, the idea comes to life on the canvas of the mind.
