In the Artist’s Words… We invited the public to participate in creating our mastodon in an effort to demonstrate how varied the artistic tastes are in Fort Wayne. Each participant was to choose an image from a large selection of art magazines and catalogs and suggest a location for placement on the mastodon. About 140 people contributed to our Mast-O-Piece, including a 4-year-old named Lina (pictured below). She chose countless images and kept Mackenzie Ladd and Michael Johnson, artists who also helped with the project, busy. We were all amazed that Lina stayed for four and a half hours at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art until Mast-O-Piece was finished.
