In the Artist’s Words… The Bear was instrumental in suggesting the concept of making the mastodon appear human. Painting the belly of the mastodon was the most difficult chore since I had to lie down and paint up. I was excited by the concept of working in a very different art medium. This project has inspired me to start showing artwork, especially paintings in oil and acrylic.
