In the Artist’s Words… Make everyone smile — that was the inspiration for my mastodon. I wanted my design to be simple but also vibrant. I knew I needed loud colors. During the unveiling, I stood back, watched, and listened to people’s reactions. They smiled and laughed. Children thought she was beautiful. All my life I have been drawing, painting, and creating, but this was the first time I truly felt like an artist.
