In the Artist’s Words… We wanted Trojan Don to be solidly built and creative. Those spearheads look sharp and strong, but they are really made of sculpted styrofoam for safety purposes. The metal parts also look like burnished metal, but they are mostly paint, wood, and paper. People are asking what we put inside. Maybe they are expecting toy soldiers? Our Trojan Don is on a mission to overwhelm our city, but it’s not with soldiers. Our secret weapon is our creativity and craftsmanship. Among many project contributors were Peter Baranowski for the idea, Marvin Hagen for painting, and Dave Disler for the structural and dimensional components.
