In the Artist’s Words… Using clay we had on hand, the students made tiles and then took a hammer to them to create the small pieces for a mosaic. Closer to deadline, they worked all hours of the day, got splattered, and ruined some clothes. Finally, 10 students from a bodybuilding class moved Egyptian Don into a well-lighted main hall where it was easy to see all the grout that had been missed. It took a 12" screwdriver and hammer to chip it all away.
