In the Artist’s Words… Using realistic images, my design concept is based on the connection between television and Fort Wayne through Philo T. Farnsworth, a Fort Wayne resident who invented the television tube. I wanted to give tribute to Farnsworth and show how television has become a window to the world. Since programs are broadcast 24 hours a day, I divided Broadcastodon into day and night sides. Finally, attached a remote control to his trunk. I thought it would be fun if the mastodon were in control of his own viewing habits — just like the rest of us.
