In the Artist’s Words… Our sponsor wanted a mastodon that would be fun to look at again and again. We came up with the idea of wrapping him in a cast which folks at Fort Wayne Orthopedics actually applied. Signatures on the cast represent Lutheran’s extensive care for the community. It would have been great if patients, staff, volunteers, nurses, and doctors had all signed the cast, but there just wasn’t enough “don” to go around! We intentionally left Cast-O-Don’s trunk unwrapped so he could wave, “Hello.”
