In the Artist’s Words… Our sponsor said he wanted something “that looked like a Harley and was cool.” So, inspired by George Barris, the famous Hollywood car customizer who created the Batmobile, and Paul Teutel from the American Chopper TV show, we came up with Chopper Don. Armed with parts salvaged from old Harleys, we spent our weekends cutting, sanding, sketching, and improvising to build something unique. Mastodons on Parade shows that Fort Wayne is a very creative city. We would definitely be involved in another project like this. It was good for us and good for the city.
