In the Artist’s Words… I thought doing an animal print on a mastodon would be fun. Then the final design just evolved into a collage of different animals. Getting Donald Trunk (the nickname all the kids at school gave him) into the art classroom was hard. We pushed him into the elevator, lifted him to the second floor, and then pushed him down the hall. Because he was so big, I had to work on him at school, which meant I was there a lot more than I liked to be. Some nights I worked till 10 p.m.
