Mastodon Hunt Official Rules
Note: The Mastodon Hunt contest for Mastodons on Parade has ended. We are no longer accepting any more entries. The winner will be announced Wednesday, May 25, 5 p.m., in Headwaters Park West.
Following are the complete rules for the Mastodon Hunt:

The contest begins on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, and ends on Wednesday, May 18, 2005.

The object of the contest is to find all 102 Mastodons on Parade and match the title of each mastodon to its location.

The contest is sponsored by Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) and Fort Wayne Newspapers (FWN).

No purchase is necessary to enter the contest.

Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

Official entry forms will be available in the Wednesday, May 4, 2005, and Monday, May 9, 2005, editions of The Journal Gazette and The News-Sentinel. Entries will also be available online, or they may be picked up in person in the lobby of Fort Wayne Newspapers, located at 600 W. Main St., or at the information desk in Kettler Hall at IPFW, located at 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd. [ IPFW campus map ]

All entries, whether paper or online, must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2005. Paper entries may be hand-delivered or sent through the U.S. Postal Service to: Mastodon Hunt, c/o IPFW, Kettler Hall, Room 161, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46805-1499.

In the event of multiple correct entries, all such entrants who meet the eligibility requirements will have their names put into a container. The name drawn from that container will be the grand-prize winner.

The drawing will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, beginning at 5 p.m. at Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne.

The grand prize is a Conference and Travel and Delta Vacations four-day/three-night package for a family of four from Fort Wayne to Orlando, Fla. The prize includes round-trip air transportation from Fort Wayne International Airport to Orlando, Fla.; lodging; and Walt Disney World tickets. All incidental expenses such as tips, gratuities, fees, and meals are the responsibility of the winner. Any and all taxes subject to this prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The estimated value of this vacation package is $2,500. Delta Vacations requires that the winner of the grand prize complete his or her hotel stay by Jan. 2, 2006.

The winner of the grand prize will be required to sign a waiver of liability form.

The contest is open to anyone over the age of 18. Persons under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian give written consent to their entering the contest. Employees of IPFW, Fort Wayne Newspapers, the United Way of Allen County, and their families are not eligible.
